THE most popular suburb for buyers looking for a house in Queensland is on the Gold Coast.
More people bought houses in Upper Coomera than any other suburb in the state in the past year.
According to CoreLogic figures 553 houses – that’s the equivalent to 1.5 houses a day – sold in the suburb.
Hot on its heels was another coastal suburb, Buderim on the Sunshine Coast, where 541 houses sold in the past 12 months.
Closer to Brisbane is was the suburbs with the larger housing estates which chalked up the most sales.
Forest Lake had 451, while Kallangur and North Lakes both chalked up 444 house sales.
In the unit market, the Gold Coast was the clear winner with all but two suburbs in the top ten for units sales on the Gold Coast.
Surfers Paradise chalked up more unit sales than any other suburb in Australia in the past year with 1613 changing hands – that’s the equivalent of more than four units a day.
It was followed by Southport, where 910 sold, Hope Island, 657 and Labrador, 579.
Brisbane city had 541 unit sales and Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast had 461.
