HUMPHREY B Bear is back!

Village Roadshow studios welcomed the iconic character to its headquarters today.

The veteran bear will host live shows across the Glitter Strip and is currently working on his own TV show and feature film to be announced later in the year.

CEO of OZPIX, Kris Maric, said plans to have Humphrey B Bear as a permanent character at Movie World were still in the making.

“He is truly the bear of the people and we look forward to continue on the magical journey of entertaining and educating kids,” she said.

“We certainly hope he can become an unofficial ambassador for the Gold Coast.”

Deputy Mayor Donna Gates said people were thrilled that Humphrey B bear had chosen to make the Gold Coast home.

“He’s made the move north like many sensible people and children as well as parents are just delighted to have him back.

The iconic bear wandered across our TV screens in 1965 and has won the hearts of both kids and adults for more than 50 years.

He was originally known as Bear Bear but was soon after voted by the people as Humphrey B Bear which led to his successful TV career.

Meanwhile final touches are being put on Australia’s first LEGO Certified store which will open at Dreamworld on the weekend.

The highly anticipated new store features a gigantic world famous Pick a Brick wall, a Make-Your-Own Mini-figure station and ten life-size LEGO models which will be unveiled on Saturday.

The flagship store will be part of a stand-alone precinct at Dreamworld’s front entry with access from within and external to the park.

Dreamworld CEO Craig Davidson said the concept store was a long time coming and a welcoming attraction for the theme park.

“It’s a new start for Dreamworld in the way that it looks and feels and a great investment,” he said.

“The size and scale of the store is enormous and quite unique not only on the Gold Coast but on the world stage as well.”

Customers will be able to purchase hard-to-find and collectors’ items as well as store specific LEGO products without having to buy a theme park ticket.

Covering an area of 350 square metres, the LEGO store will be the largest retail outlet at Dreamworld.
