THE Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo event has locked in one of the world’s most recognisable, and ridiculously good-looking, polo players.
Argentinian Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras, the face of Ralph Lauren’s Black Label line since 2005, has been announced as the ambassador for the exclusive waterside polo match at Doug Jennings Park at Main Beach for the next two years.
Magic Millions co-owner Katie Page said trying to lure Figueras, a close friend of Prince Harry, had been a long-term goal.
“He is the epitome of everything that makes polo one of the most exciting and glamorous live sports in the world,” Page said.
“I always wanted Nacho Figueras to be a part of the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo.”
Just last week Figueras played in front of a crowd of stars including Kate Hudson, Chris Martin, Jamie Foxx in Los Angeles.
Figueras said hearing great reports from friends who played in last year’s Gold Coast event had attracted him to the city.
The 40-year-old father of four was also voted in as the second most handsome man in the world in 2009 according to Vanity Fair readers.
